I like to photograph bees visiting flowers but it can be challenging. The bees are always moving and when they do stop at a flower they often crawl inside. This was a lucky shot as the bee was hovering beside the flowers.
There was lots of light so the shutter speed was fast enough (1/1500) to freeze the movement. The blurred background (f6.3) makes the flower and bee stand out. This was shot at 600mm equivalent (with the Tamron 18-400). The versatility of this lens really suits my style of opportunistic photography.
