Flying to Loreto

From Santa Barbara we headed to Loreto, about halfway down the Baja peninsula. We've driven down Baja, and taken the bus, but this time we took the easy way and flew from Los Angeles. The terrain you fly over is rocky mountainous desert. I had the usual murky porthole, but I still took lots of photos. The color was washed out so I converted the to black and white. None of them are very sharp, but it was the abstract patterns that interested me.

Despite being desert, this land is shaped by water. Very few of these "rivers" had any sign of water in them.

I'm not sure if this is one of them, but there are also some volcanic peaks in Baja.

Around Loreto the countryside was quite green due to some recent rain. It's always surprising how the desert can turn green after rain. We flew past the familiar malecón and marina on our way to land.
